We met freshman year of college at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln. For the first year, we were just friends. We shared many memories like husker game days, movie nights with friends, and much more. It wasn't until April 2019, our sophomore year, that we began dating and the rest is history!

On November 20th, 2022 Clay proposed at Mt. Lemmon in Tucson, AZ. Shortly after in May of 2023, Katie graduated with her master and was finally able to join Clay in Arizona!
